KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3:  A major security crackdown across Kuwait's Ahmadi Governorate has led to the arrest of 18 individuals on a range of charges, including expired visas, residency violations, and labor law offences. One suspect wanted in connection with a criminal case was also apprehended and is set to serve a four-year prison sentence.

The coordinated campaign, described by authorities as "qualitative," was launched by the Ahmadi Security Directorate in cooperation with Kuwait Municipality. It was carried out under the direct supervision of Major General Hamad Al-Munifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs, and Brigadier General Hussein Dashti, Director General of the Ahmadi Security Directorate.

Among those arrested were six individuals violating labor laws, four with expired residency permits, five reported absent from their employers, and three overstaying their visit visas. Additionally, 12 people were detained for failing to produce valid identification.

Security forces also seized a vehicle involved in a breach of trust case and a motorcycle. Eight mobile caravans and 11 abandoned vehicles were removed from the streets, while officers issued 200 traffic citations during the operation, which deployed 10 separate security units across the region.

Authorities stressed that security campaigns will continue in Ahmadi to clamp down on lawbreakers, reckless drivers, and anyone found violating residency or traffic regulations.
