KUWAIT CITY, Nov 9: The latest data released by the Central Bank of Kuwait revealed that ‘WAMD’ instant payment service recorded exceptional performance in the first nine months of 2025, with the value of transactions totaling about KD6.063 billion for around 80.2 million transactions, averaging KD76 per transaction. This performance is attributed to the remarkable growth in the second and third quarters of this year. Transactions in the second quarter jumped by 24.8 percent to KD2.026 billion, and then rose again in the third quarter by 19.1 percent to KD2.414 billion. This follows the 47.3 percent increase in the first quarter, reaching KD1.623 billion, compared to KD1.101 billion in the last quarter of 2024. This astonishing growth is a reflection of the increasing demand among individuals and companies to use WAMD as a primary payment method to benefit from its speed, flexibility, and security.
