Visitors keep away ... no med care at Kuwait gov’t hospitals, clinics

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 23: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi on Thursday issued a decision excluding foreigners arriving on temporary visas or for the purpose of visiting from health services offered by government hospitals, specialized centers and primary care centers, as such services are for and residents only. In a press statement, the Ministry of Health explained that the decision is part of a comprehensive health vision aimed at achieving a balance between operational efficiency and the improvement of services, ensuring that medical care is granted only to those who truly deserve it. The ministry affirmed that this step enhances the allocation of medical resources and capabilities to better serve citizens, thereby contributing to the sustainability of the health system and maintaining the quality of health services in the country.

On the other hand, the ministry organized a training course to improve the quality of hotel services in hospitals. Assistant Undersecretary for Health Services at the Ministry Abdulaziz Al-Tasha sponsored and attended the training course with the participation of 30 employees from various hospitals. The ministry revealed in a press statement that the training course aimed to raise the efficiency of employees in following up and implementing laundry contracts by training the concerned health personnel to manage these contracts in a way that ensures a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for the patients. It emphasized that hotel services are an essential component of the patients’ experience, contributing to the improvement of the recovery environment and raising the level of satisfaction among patients. It added that all participants in the training course will be honored in order to raise awareness on the importance of maintaining a safe and comfortable environment in hospitals.
