Visa issued from Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate cannot be transferred?

I came to Kuwait one year before as driver on Visa 18. I am having diploma degree. I would like to know if my visa can be transferred upon completion of two or three years in current company if my current sponsor is ready to release me. I heard from a representative that “if visa is issued from Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate it cannot be transferred”. So can you please tell me if there is any such rule for transferring my visa? I am little worried, your advice and comment be highly appreciated. Please reply.

Answer: The rules governing transfer of visas are the same for all governorates without any exception. Having said this, it is however possible for some officials in some governorates to wrongly interpret these rules and giving the impression that those governorates operate with different rules. Coming back to the crux of your question, you can transfer your visa to another company after one year of service in your original company if you are locally hired or after 3 years if the company brought you to Kuwait from your home country.
