KUWAIT CITY, July 20: Based on instructions from the acting Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Adeeb Swedan, security operatives launched a campaign in Capital governorate covering Sharq Industrial Area and its surroundings, and arrested 40 visa 20 holders working in commercial shops in violation of law.

They were referred to relevant authorities for further investigation. Public Relations and Security Media Department noted necessary legal action will be taken against their sponsors. It warned the owners of shops and companies against hiring expatriates without valid residency or employ people who are not registered under their sponsorship.

Meanwhile, officers from the Ahmadi Security Directorate in a recent campaign issued 42 traffic violations, impounded 9 vehicles and arrested 34 people wanted by law for various offenses. All suspects were referred to concerned authorities. Security sources said the campaign will continue across the governorate in coordination with relevant security sectors over an indeterminate period to restore law and order.
