KUWAIT CITY, Sept 30: Al-Yarmouk and Al-Sulaibikhat maintained their perfect starts to the Kuwait First Division League, each securing a third straight victory in the third round of action.

Al-Yarmouk defeated Khaitan 2-0 at home, while Al-Sulaibikhat claimed a 3-1 win over Burgan at Al-Sahel Stadium. Both clubs now sit at the top of the table with nine points from three matches. Khaitan remains on a single point, with Burgan stuck at two.

Promoted side Al-Jazeera continued its impressive run, closing in on the leaders with a 3-0 victory over Al-Shamiya at Nasser Al-Assimi Stadium to reach seven points. Al-Shamiya remains at the bottom without a point, level with Sporty, who suffered their third straight defeat after falling 2-0 to Al-Sahel. That win lifted Al-Sahel to five points in fourth place.

Al-Yarmouk team manager Abdulaziz Al-Failakawi hailed his side’s strong 2-0 win over Khaitan, their third consecutive success, which keeps them top of the standings with maximum points.

He praised the players for their dominant display, noting their ability to control the match while executing the game plan of Kuwaiti coach Dhaher Al-Adwani. Al-Failakawi highlighted that the team’s performance has shown steady improvement compared to their earlier matches, with clear progress visible in the win over Khaitan.

He also pointed to the growing chemistry between local players and foreign professionals, who are settling in well and making key contributions. Looking ahead, Al-Failakawi expressed confidence that the team will carry the same fighting spirit and intensity into their next clash against Burgan on Saturday.
