KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: Tourism expert Kamal Kabsha said the demand for travel to Saudi Arabia among Kuwaitis wishing to perform Umrah has increased remarkably, reports Al-Anba daily. Kabsha pointed out that the repercussions of the spread of the coronavirus in the last two years, suspension of travel movement, and regulations imposed on the performance of holy rites raised the prices of travel to perform Umrah in the last period.

He said many citizens, who scheduled the performance of Umrah on certain dates, changed those dates during the past weeks due to the emergence of the Omicron variant which prompted them to push their travel ahead of the original schedule to perform Umrah for fear of any new measures that might be taken in the future that could prevent them from performing these rites. He disclosed the weekend Umrah package costs between KD 150 to KD 250 for a period of three to four days, including accommodation in four and five-star hotels as well as transfers from Kuwait to the Kingdom and vice versa.
