KUWAIT CITY, May 24: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is coordinating efforts with the Ministry of Interior to contain the menace of begging and the phenomenon of street vendors during the holy month of Ramadan, reports Al-Rai daily.The daily said this was disclosed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Farid Amadi. Amadi said beggars and street vendors remain active around mosques during Ramadan and the coordination between both ministries has resulted in minimizing such cases.Amadi said the Awqaf ministry has issued directives to all imams and muezzins not to entertain any donations from worshippers in cash.
