Two Expat Employees Arrested for Stealing 2kg of Gold in Jahra

KUWAIT CITY, May 18 : Acting on orders from the Jahra Police Station investigator, authorities have arrested two expatriates and placed them under a travel ban for allegedly stealing two kilograms of pure gold, valued at over KD 60,000, from a jewelry shop in Jahra.

According to a security source, the individual who filed the complaint will also be questioned following the arrests, as part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

The incident, registered as a misdemeanor, was brought to light by an expatriate serving as the company’s manager. He reported that approximately one kilogram of gold was found missing and accused two fellow expatriate employees of theft. The manager claimed the thefts occurred on April 9 at 9:00 a.m. and April 15 at 11:00 a.m.

It remains unclear whether surveillance footage was provided to substantiate the allegations, despite the specific dates and times mentioned in the report. The complainant also did not clarify why the company delayed reporting the theft to authorities.
