KUWAIT CITY, Jun 14: Last night, the Farwaniya Security Directorate’s backup patrols referred an expatriate to the General Department for Drug Control after apprehending him driving under the influence of drugs and in possession of narcotics in the Ardiya Industrial Area.
According to a source, while manning a checkpoint at the entrance of the Ardiya Industrial Area, the Farwaniya patrol noticed a car driven by an expatriate who appeared visibly scared and confused. When officers asked him to exit the vehicle, it quickly became apparent that he was under the influence of drugs. A precautionary search uncovered narcotics and a hashish cigarette on his person. The individual and the seized items were subsequently handed over to the General Department for Drug Control for further investigation and legal action.
In a separate incident, the Hawally Security Directorate’s backup patrols arrested a young man in his thirties for similar offenses. During a security patrol in the Salmiya area, officers stopped a suspicious vehicle. The driver showed signs of being under the influence of drugs. Upon questioning, it was confirmed that the driver was a man in his thirties. A search of the vehicle and the man revealed narcotics and drug paraphernalia in his possession. He was then referred, along with the seized evidence, to the General Department for Drug Control.
Both cases highlight the ongoing efforts by Kuwait’s security forces to combat drug-related offenses and ensure public safety in various regions of the country.
