KUWAIT CITY, Aug 31: The General Traffic Department of the Ministry of Interior has apprehended two individuals involved in tampering with vehicle meters of used vehicles at a car repair shop in the Al-Rai area. The arrests were made on Thursday, August 29, 2024, after the Technical Inspection Department's Workshop Monitoring Section identified the garage engaging in illegal activities. A detailed technical report was prepared by the International Standards Department, documenting all relevant information, including the location of the garage and the individuals involved.

Subsequently, the General Department of Criminal Investigations - Department of Combating Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes was contracted to carry out the arrests. The authorities apprehended the two individuals at the scene, confiscating all devices used for meter tampering. The suspects were handed over to the Department of Combating Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes, and the Ministry of Commerce has since closed the garage.
