Trio in bribe charge

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: The Attorney General, Counselor Saad Al-Safran, has referred a member of the Municipal Council, a businessman and a mediator to the Criminal Court on charges of accepting bribe. The source told Al-Qabas daily, “The referral decision included a request by the Public Prosecution to impose maximum penalties on the accused, after issuing a decision to imprison them for a period of 21 days and transfer them to the central prison.”
The source indicated that the Public Prosecution addressed the Central Bank to inspect the bank accounts of the accused, and the trading activity. The amount involved in the bribe activity is believed to be 100,000 dinars for passing two transactions.
