KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: Investigations into the incident involving the death of an Indian expatriate on Fahaheel Express Road in the early hours of Saturday have revealed a troubling likelihood of suicide. It was discovered that the expatriate had been involved in a traffic accident before tragically ending up under the wheels of a Portuguese national's four-wheeler.
According to a security source, the deceased Indian born in 1989, was in the company of another expatriate when an accident occurred with a Japanese sedan on Fahaheel Express Road, heading towards Kuwait City. Following the collision, the Indian expatriate leaped over the cement barrier onto Fahaheel Road towards Nuwaiseeb and began darting back and forth on the road where vehicles were driving to a maximum speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Despite efforts by several vehicles to avoid him, the Portuguese national ultimately struck him.
The source further explained that as security personnel were attending to the accident scene for investigation and the removal of the deceased's body, a Kuwaiti citizen born in 1993 approached them with a video. This footage, captured by his home camera in Abu Ftaira, depicted the expatriate intentionally running in front of oncoming speeding vehicles.
The source added that the expatriate who had been accompanying the deceased was detained, and he confirmed the accident, expressing shock at the deceased's unusual and distressing behavior. All pertinent details related to the case have been submitted to the Abu Ftaira police station for further investigation.
