ISLAMABAD, Oct 16, (Xinhua): At least 15 people were killed and eight others injured in a road accident in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, rescue officials said on Thursday.
The accident occurred in the Malakand district on Wednesday night when a truck overturned while crossing a sharp turn on the motorway, Bilal Faizi, spokesman for Rescue 1122 in the province, told Xinhua.
He said the deceased and injured included men, women, and children from a nomadic family who were traveling toward Swat district on the truck. Rescue teams rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the call and carried out the operation jointly with motorway police and other personnel, Faizi said. According to the official, some of the injured are in critical condition.
