KUWAIT CITY, Sept 9: The Public Anti- Corruption Authority (Nazaha) has announced the referral of former senior officials and others from the Ministry of Electricity and Water to the Public Prosecution for “causing serious harm to public money, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The authority said, in a statement, that in continuation of its efforts to combat corruption, ward off its risks and effects, and prosecute the suspects in line with clauses in Law No. 2 of 2016 regarding the establishment of the Public Anti-Corruption Authority and its executive regulations, it was decided, after investigation and gathering of evidence, to refer former officials and others to the Public Prosecution Office, on charges of: committing grave damage to public funds, which is punishable under Article No. (14) of Law No. 1 of 1993. “Nazaha” affirmed its intention to continue efforts and procedures to collect evidence and carry out investigations in all serious communications in receives that fulfill the conditions and at the same time appreciated the role of whistleblowers in exercising their role in helping the authority to access the necessary information and data on corruption
