The professor used to mock his students frequently. One day he asked a student, “How many kidneys do we have?” The student answered, “Four.” The professor looked at him condescendingly, then called his assistant, saying, “Bring us a bundle of grass, for we have a donkey in the lecture hall.”

The student, looking at the teaching assistant, said, “Bring me a cup of coffee with the grass.” The professor became furious and ordered the student to be expelled from the room. As he reached the door, the student stopped, turned back, and calmly said to the professor, “You asked me how many kidneys we have, didn’t you?”

The professor replied, “Yes.” The student explained that “we have” meant both the student and the professor together, so they had a total of four kidneys. He then continued, “I hope you enjoy eating the grass you ordered, while I go drink my coffee.”

The student left medical school and never returned. He went on to work in media, eventually becoming the most famous satirist in Brazilian history, known as “Baron de Itare.” True intelligence lies in quick response and the ability to counter arrogance with one’s own linguistic tools.

These rulers terrified Europe
Do you know which rulers Europe resented for centuries? - Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror - He crushed the dreams of Constantinople and brought down the Byzantine Empire. Europe trembled when he conquered Otranto. He was on his way to conquer Italy when he died suddenly in 1481. Europe celebrated as if it had been saved from a great flood. - Suleiman the Magnificent - He defeated Hungary and besieged Vienna, and Europe saw in his shadow the end of its security. He died before the walls of Szigetvár Castle in Hungary, and Europe celebrated the end of the threat to Vienna. - Saladin - He liberated Jerusalem from the Europeans and shattered the myths of the Crusades. He fell ill after a long struggle, and Europe celebrated news of his passing. - Tariq ibn Ziyad - He brought Islam into the heart of Europe and defeated the Visigoth armies in Andalusia. He later faded into historical obscurity after a glorious legacy, and Europe breathed a sigh of relief. These figures are long gone, but they left an enduring imprint on Europe’s memory and a lasting legacy of glory.

The frightened mouse and the magician
An Indian legend tells of a mouse who was constantly in distress because of his fear of cats. A magician took pity on him and transformed him into a cat, but he then became afraid of dogs. The magician transformed him into a dog, and he began to fear tigers. The magician transformed him into a tiger, and his heart filled with fear of hunters. At this point, the magician gave up and returned him to his original form as a mouse, saying, “It won’t help you.” Anything is possible as long as you do not carry the heart of a mouse. If you want to change, you must begin with your heart.
