The Jewish American human rights advocate, Professor Norman Finkelstein, says, “I refuse to condemn Hamas because I believe that those who carried out the October 7th operation had no other option but to die as slaves.” I wish that all those who condemned the October 7th operation, regardless of my sharing the same negative views toward Hamas, would tell us how a Palestinian can ever restore even the smallest part of his rights and reclaim the home that was usurped 78 years ago by an immigrant from Russia or Ukraine.
On the same day Finkelstein made his statement, the hardline Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, told the Associated Press, “It’s no secret that I disagree with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and I believe that assassinations should be carried out in Gaza, eliminating 30 to 40 Palestinians every night. These assassinations should not only target those who pose a direct threat to us. Some people do not deserve to live and should stay alive. They aren’t even humans.” Ben-Gvir’s statement sparked a major international outcry. International legal experts described it as potential evidence that could be presented before the International Court of Justice in support of allegations of genocidal intent.
The statement may also have contributed to Britain’s recent decision to boycott Israeli products from illegal Israeli settlements. Ben-Gvir also called for the mass expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza and their replacement with Israelis. He said, “I see all of Gaza as ours.” Legal experts described this statement as potentially constituting ethnic cleansing. The renowned American rabbi Yosef Mizrahi said, “The Gentiles are angry because the Jews control the money. Who else can control the money? Is it you? Do you compare yourself to the chosen people? Don’t you see God’s favor upon them? It is good for you that they run the country, they run the world, they run the economy. The entire world has tried to destroy the Jews. But all empires have fallen, and the Jews have remained in power.
According to the laws of nature, the Jews were supposed to die in the first year after the Torah was given to them, when their enemies, the Amalekites, came. They had no army, no weapons. They were in the middle of the desert with their children. Suddenly they were attacked. At that time, their survival was a great miracle. The Jews went through 3,300 years of massacres, the Holocaust, and all kinds of wars. Armies came to Jerusalem to burn us alive. All of that is gone, and we are above everyone else, always in power, always ahead of the world. Imagine the world without us; it would undoubtedly be a thousand years more primitive. Almost all the world’s inventions are the work of Jews, especially Israelis.
Medicine, doctors, surgeons, America’s top judges, all kinds of designers, architects, artists, musicians, leading rabbis, philosophers. Try to imagine the world without us, knowing that we only make up a quarter of one percent of the world’s population. Just to remind you, the United States was on the verge of bankruptcy in 2008. Everything was about to collapse. Who saved this country? No one but the Jewish Ben Shalom Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve. He was a religious Jew, and he made some brilliant moves in managing interest rates by lowering them. He forced the big banks to buy the small ones before everyone went into complete chaos. America would have been worse off than the Soviet Union, but no one seems to be grateful for what he did.” After all this, some people still believe that the Israelis want nothing but peace.
