KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The curtain comes down on the first phase of the Handball Premier League today with the final matches of Round 7 at Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex.

Arabi faces Salmiya at 5:00 p.m., followed by Qadisia against Sulaibikhat at 6:30 p.m. The round will conclude tomorrow when Kazma meets Nasr at 5:00 p.m., before league leader Kuwait Club takes on Burgan at 6:30 p.m.

Kuwait Club tops the standings with 12 points, followed by Burgan on eight, Kazma on seven, while Qadsia and Salmiya are level on six. Arabi sits on four points, Sulaibikhat on three, and Nasr remains without a point.

The second phase of the league is scheduled to begin next Tuesday and Wednesday.

Eight teams compete in the Premier League, which is played across three phases. Each team meets its opponents three times over the season (home, away, home). The last-placed team will be relegated to the First Division, while the seventh-placed side will play a playoff against the First Division runner-up to determine promotion and relegation.

Meanwhile, the technical committee of the Ministries, Authorities, and Government Institutions Handball League held a coordination meeting with six participating entities, confirming October 28 as the start date of the “Super” competition.
