Temporary MoE freeze on disciplinary punishments

KUWAIT CITY, June 4: Minister of Education Jalal Al-Tabtabaei issued an administrative decision to suspend any decisions related to disciplinary sanctions, as part of efforts to ensure smooth and regular workflow in the ministry. The newspaper obtained a copy of the decision, in which Al-Tabtabaei explained that this move is in light of amendments to the organizational structure of the ministry, including the abolition of some job titles and the reduction of certain organizational levels.

He said this necessitates redefining the authorities responsible for administrative discipline. He stressed the need to continue conducting administrative investigations (both those currently underway and those that may arise in the future) while hearing statements and gathering information and data for indicative purposes only. “This decision should not be directed or attributed to any employee until the new organizational structure is approved and the authorities in charge of referring individuals for investigation or imposing disciplinary penalties are identified,” he elaborated. He called on all those in leadership and supervisory positions in the ministry to fully adhere to this directive and to consider it in all ongoing administrative procedures
