KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: A case has been registered against a woman in her fifties at Abu Halifa Police Station for insulting a public employee and threatening to cause him harm.
A security source stated that a report was filed with the Ministry of Interior Operations by an expatriate who works as a call taxi driver. He reported that he had given a ride to three women, and upon reaching their destination, they refused to pay and threatened to harm him.
The report was immediately forwarded to the nearest patrol, and the three women were detained. They initially refused to cooperate with security personnel and go to the police station, prompting the intervention of two female police officers, who escorted them to the station. During this time, the women insulted the female officers and used inappropriate language. A case has been registered under Article 134.
It is worth noting that Article 134 stipulates that anyone who insults a public employee, verbally or by gesture, while performing their duties—or because of performing them—can face imprisonment for up to three months and a fine between KD 100 and KD 300, or either of these penalties.
