KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: No matter how far they run, forgers cannot escape the long arm of justice. One such case has sent shockwaves through Kuwait’s nationality investigations: a man, falsely claiming Kuwaiti citizenship but Syrian, fled the country in May 2025 with two of his sons after a forged relative’s file was uncovered. Authorities believe he may have moved again after the forgery came to light.
Sources revealed that the fugitive’s family is extensive: three daughters and a wife whose citizenship had previously been revoked under Article 8, as well as a brother and two sisters of Syrian nationality still residing in Kuwait. DNA testing of the daughters, now in custody, along with genetic checks on the siblings, confirmed that the children were biologically Syrian.
Investigations exposed that the fugitive had manipulated official records, inserting his real children and falsifying his birth date into the file of a naturalized Kuwaiti citizen. Born in 1969, the man had retired from the Ministry of Defense before his escape. His household alone includes nine people: two sons, six daughters, his wife, and the original Syrian file holder.
Authorities stressed that any case of proven forgery undergoes meticulous scrutiny, with every registered individual subjected to scientific verification. Genetic fingerprinting, they noted, serves as irrefutable evidence, leaving no room for deception. In Kuwait, it seems, even the craftiest forger cannot outrun the truth.
