Chairman of Olympic Committee of Kuwait Sheikh Fahad Al-Nasser Al-Sabah recently inaugurated a symposium titled “Kudos to Sporting Community” at Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center.

In a press release, Sheikh Fahad affirmed that the committee aspires for creating Olympic champions who can represent Kuwait gloriously by contesting for honoring platforms.

He explained that the committee has many things to offer Kuwait, and there are talents. It only requires doubling the efforts to accomplish the aspiration of creating Olympic champions. There are talented Kuwaiti sportsmen in group and individual athletic games, but “building Olympic champions is not a cup of tea. Therefore, the committee will concentrate on individual champions for now”. This issue has been considered and studied in detail.

Talking about professionalism, Sheikh Fahad declared that the country is at the beginning of professionalism, which is why the private sector should be involved in the nearest future.

The event was attended by the Deputy Director General of Public Authority for Sports Saqer Al-Mulla, Vice-Chairman of Olympic Committee of Kuwait Mohammad Ja’afar, Secretary General of the committee Hussein Al-Meslim, and a host of other sporting personalities in the country.
