KUWAIT CITY, May 13: Saad Ennad, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sulaibikhat Club, expressed his pride and joy following the first volleyball team’s triumph in clinching the First Division League title.

The "Red North" dramatically secured the championship, edging out Al-Nasr 3-2 in a thrilling final-round clash held at the Federation Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex. In the same round, Al-Sahel defeated Al-Tadamon 3-2.

Sulaibikhat topped the league standings with 21 points, followed by Al-Nasr with 19. Al-Yarmouk placed third with 11 points, Al-Sahel came fourth with 8, and Al-Tadamon finished without any points.

The league’s closing ceremony was attended by prominent sports figures, including Kuwait Volleyball Federation President Dr. Jaber Al-Marri, Assistant Secretary Nayef Al-Khamili, Sulaibikhat Club President Saad Ennad, Club Secretary Nasser Mansi, and Al-Nasr Club President Khaled Al-Sharida.

Ennad praised his players’ fighting spirit, describing it as a trademark of the Sulaibikhat squad. He announced that financial rewards will be granted to the team for their championship win, along with plans to organize an overseas training camp in preparation for the next season.

He extended his gratitude to the players, coaching staff, and administrative team for their efforts, and revealed that the club is in talks with the Kuwait Volleyball Federation to nominate Sulaibikhat for participation in an international tournament — whether in the Gulf, West Asia, or the Arab region.

The team is coached by Egyptian tactician Mohamed Mahran, with fellow countryman Ahmed Refaat serving as technical director.
