KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: Salmi customs men have seized subsidized foodstuffs from a goods truck which was destined for an unidentified Arab country, reports Al-Rai daily. A customs source said the customs officers suspected the truck, and when they checked the documents it said the cargo contains different types of goods.

Foodstuff subsidized by the Kuwait government was seized at the northern border

However, when the customs men checked, they found it was loaded with subsidized rice, oil, milk powder, sugar and other edible items. The foodstuffs have been confiscated and the driver has been detained at the area police station for interrogation. The source added the subsidized food supplies cannot be taken out of the country because they are meant for Kuwaitis since the subsidy is paid for by the government of Kuwait
