KUWAIT CITY, July 14: The Legal Advice and Legislation Department at the Ministry of Awqaf issued a fatwa (edict) prohibiting anyone diagnosed with corona or those in quarantine as per the decision of health authorities from interacting with healthy people and going to the mosque for Friday prayers.

The department explained this decision is aimed at preventing the abovementioned individuals from infecting others, indicating they should pray four ‘rakats’ wherever they are.

The department added those with weak immune system; such as the elderly, children and those suffering from chronic diseases like asthma or those afraid of being infected with the virus should not perform Friday prayers in mosques and be satisfied with praying four ‘rakats’ wherever they are.
