KUWAIT CITY, May 6: The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church in Kuwait celebrated the Glorious Resurrection, one of its most important and largest religious occasions. The atmosphere was filled with values of tolerance, love and brotherhood. St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral held a Mass attended by representatives of different creeds, sects, members of the diplomatic corps, prominent social figures and church members. Patron of the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church in Kuwait Anba Bishoy Bigol presided over the Mass. He emphasized that Kuwait is a country of humanity, tolerance, and coexistence among different religions and nationalities. As a religious tradition, the church was covered in white and decorated with bouquets of roses.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s bouquet was placed in the middle. Deputy Egyptian Ambassador Noura Abdul Hadi, Military Attaché Brigadier General Mohamed Ragab, members of the diplomatic mission, and a large number of personalities and members of the Egyptian community attended the event. Abdul-Hadi conveyed a congratulatory message from Egyptian President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi to the Egyptian Coptics abroad. She expressed appreciation and gratitude to Kuwait for its constant attention and care towards the Egyptian community, which refl ects the deep fraternal relations between the two countries. In a speech on behalf of Ambassador Shaltout, Abdul-Hadi extended sincere congratulations to Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark and the Coptic Orthodox sons of Egypt in Kuwait on this occasion.

The ambassador added: “We renew the pledge of unity and love among the people of the country. We are happy to share the holidays and support each other in facing challenges. We recall the teachings of Jesus Christ, calling for upholding the values of tolerance and love. We express the depth of the authentic Egyptian ties between the people of Egypt and those living abroad; such that Egypt’s national unity remains a unique model for all peoples. Our celebration in Kuwait is special, which the country deserves throughout history with its wise leadership towards the people of Egypt on its land President Abdul Fattah El-Sisi appreciated the attention and care that Kuwait provides to the Egyptian community, as demonstrated during the recent visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad to Egypt.” On the other hand, Father Bigol praised His Highness the Amir for his visit to Egypt and thanked him for the luxurious bouquet of roses that decorated the church. He expressed gratitude for His Highness’s care towards the members of the Egyptian community, emphasizing that living in Kuwait feels like living in their home country, Egypt. He praised the two loving nations and wished for more security and stability for all people on Earth
