COLOMBO, Sept 9: Sri Lankan Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya welcomed FINA President Captain Hussain Al-Musallam to discuss the future of aquatic sports in the country.
The leaders explored FINA’s DiscoverWater program, strategies for developing aquatic sports in Sri Lanka, and the shared ambition to host a major international open-water competition. They also highlighted the importance of initiatives aimed at preventing drowning.
Al-Musallam described the meeting as productive and reaffirmed FINA’s commitment to promoting and advancing aquatic sports globally as part of its international agenda.
