KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29:  Al-Qadisiyah's Badr Al-Mutawa, showcased his brilliance, leading his team to a 2-1 victory over Al-Fahaheel in the opening match of the 12th round of the Zain Premier League at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium this evening. The win elevated Al-Qadisiyah's standing to 28 points, while Al-Fahaheel remained at 12 points. Notably, Al-Qadisiyah played without their coach, Mohamed Ibrahim, due to a health condition.

The match unfolded as a closely contested battle, filled with exciting and beautiful moments. One standout scene was Badr Al-Mutawa's precise cross, skillfully met by Mubarak Al-Fanini with an "scissor kick" resulting in the first and most spectacular goal of the match past Al-Fahaheel goalkeeper Abdul Rahman Al-Majdali in the 23rd minute.

Throughout the first half, Al-Qadisiyah's defensive duo, Khaled Ibrahim and Argentine Sergio Vitor, engaged in a special battle against the attacking duo of the Brazilian "Ashaws," William Barros and Vitor DaSilva. The yellow duo successfully preserved their clean sheet. Al-Fahaheel's most dangerous opportunity came through Vitor's shot, narrowly blocked by goalkeeper Ali Jaragh in the 34th minute, while Mohammed Sawla missed a chance to double the score for Al-Qadisiyah just before halftime.

Entering the second half with determination, Al-Qadisiyah aimed to secure three points, and a successful collaboration between Abdulaziz Wadi and Badr Al-Mutawa led to the team's second goal in the 55th minute, bringing their total to 160 goals, with only a two-goal difference from the historic top scorer of the Kuwaiti League, former Syrian international striker Firas Al-Khatib, who is also the coach of Al-Fahaheel.

Despite Al-Fahaheel's efforts to narrow the gap, Brazilian defender Julio Cesar managed to score with a header from a free ball in the 65th minute. Cesar came close to equalizing the score in the 82nd minute, but Ali Jaragh denied him the opportunity.

International referee Saud Al-Samhan officiated the match, cautioning Abdulaziz Wadi from Al-Qadisiyah. The referee faced criticism for not awarding a penalty kick to Al-Fahaheel after Khaled Ibrahim obstructed Vitor DaSilva in the first half.
