SEOUL, South Korea, Feb 17: South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron has been found dead in Seoul, according to police reports. The 24-year-old actress was discovered in her home in the Seongsu-dong district of the city by a friend at approximately 16:55 (07:55 GMT) on Sunday.

Authorities have stated that no signs of foul play were found at the scene, and they are currently investigating the cause of her death.

Kim Sae-ron began her career as a child actor and was widely regarded as one of South Korea's most promising young actresses. Born in Seoul in 2000, she gained prominence with her role in the 2009 film A Brand New Life, which earned her a spot at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.

She went on to achieve further success with roles in the 2010 hit The Man from Nowhere, South Korea's highest-grossing film of that year, and the 2012 thriller The Neighbour, for which she received award recognition.

Other notable roles in Kim's career include the 2014 film A Girl at My Door and the 2016 television series Mirror of the Witch.

Kim largely stepped out of the public eye in 2022 following a drink-driving incident. In April 2023, she was fined 20 million won (£11,000) for the offense. Her last role was in the 2023 Netflix Korean drama Bloodhounds. However, Variety reported that much of her performance in the drama was edited out due to the driving incident.
