Sorour makes Kuwait proud with silver at World Para Athletics Championships

NEW DELHI, Oct 6 (KUNA): Kuwaiti Paralympic athlete Faisal Sorour won the silver medal in the F42 shot put event at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, achieving a remarkable milestone for Kuwait.

In a statement to KUNA, Kuwait’s ambassador to India, Mishal Mustafa Al-Shemali, congratulated Sorour for his outstanding performance and praised his determination to represent Kuwait with pride on the global stage. Sorour set a new personal and Asian record with a throw of 16.28 meters, earning second place in the competition.

Nasser Al-Ajmi, Head of the Kuwaiti Delegation and Chairman of the Kuwaiti Paralympic Athletics Committee, lauded the achievement, attributing it to the dedication and teamwork of Sorour and the accompanying technical and administrative staff.

He dedicated this achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the Kuwaiti people, expressing deep appreciation for their continued support.

Al-Ajmi also extended his thanks to Ambassador Al-Shemali and the Kuwaiti Embassy staff in New Delhi for their unwavering assistance and encouragement throughout the team’s participation in the championship.
