LOS ANGELES, Sept 26, (Agencies): Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have agreed to a temporary arrangement regarding their children’s residence as they navigate the intricacies of their divorce. The couple has entered into an interim consent order, filed on Monday, which prevents either party from relocating the children out of the state of New York. This agreement follows closely on the heels of Turner’s legal filing, where she initiated a lawsuit against Jonas in her bid to bring their two daughters back to England.
Turner submitted a petition in a New York court the previous Thursday, urgently seeking the return of their two daughters to the United Kingdom. The legal documents state that the couple had established England as their permanent residence in April of the current year.

Jonas had filed for divorce from Turner earlier this month in a Miami court, ending their four-year marriage. During the summer, their daughters had predominantly been in the United States with him while Turner was engaged in a project in England.

The filing by Turner recounts a meeting between the two on or around September 17, 2023, to discuss their separation. “Turner reiterated the parties’ agreed plan for the children to return home to England that week. Jonas has possession of the children’s passports. He refuses to return the passports to Turner and refuses to send the children home to England with Turner,” the filing states.

Jonas subsequently released a statement, presenting a different perspective on their agreement. The statement conveyed, “Joe and Sophie had a cordial meeting this past Sunday in New York when Sophie came to be with the kids. They have been with her since that meeting. Joe’s impression of the meeting was that they had reached an understanding that they would work together towards an amicable co-parenting setup.”

“Joe is seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father and is, of course, also okay with the kids being raised both in the U.S. and the UK,” the statement continued. “The children were born in the U.S. and have spent the vast majority of their lives in the U.S. They are American citizens.”

Both of Turner and Jonas’ daughters, 3-year-old Willa and her 1-year-old younger sibling (whose name remains undisclosed to the public, although court documents indicate her initials are “DMJ”), hold dual citizenship in the United Kingdom and the United States.
