Social Affairs to prepare guide to corporate governance

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 10: The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs for Administrative Planning and Development, Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi, said the Ministry is seeking to prepare a guide to corporate governance at the Ministry of Social Affairs by promoting integrity, institutional governance, digital transformation of government services and the development of government performance.

Al-Mutairi told the Al- Seyassah daily that enhancing integrity and governance includes preparing a corporate governance guide for each entity, and to work to implement this, ministry has formed a work team which includes four trainers from the ministry who are specialized in corporate governance and a doctor from the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development who has also specialized in corporate governance.

He added the team has held 3 meetings so far and a work plan has been prepared and is expected to be implemented in the first week of next January to review the work in the departments of each sector, the documentary session, the legislation and the regulations in force, the implementation of visits and interviews for those appointed in the sector, and the implementation of a training course in institutional governance for senior officials first followed by the supervisors in every sector, including director, observers, heads of departments, and employees.

He pointed out that the course aims to build a culture and development of institutional loyalty and a sense of responsibility among all workers at different levels of employment towards the ministry and the state, which will be followed by the institutional evaluation of the sectors, application of the principles of governance in the completion and implementation of its work, and the printing a comprehensive guide about principles and controls of governance for all sectors of the ministry.
