KUWAIT CITY, July 10: Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, held separate meetings on Thursday with the ambassadors of the United States, India, and Pakistan. The discussions focused on enhancing joint security cooperation and exchanging views on various regional and international issues of mutual concern.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior’s General Department of Public Relations and Security Media, Sheikh Fahad Al-Sabah met with US Ambassador Karen Sasahara to review several key security files. The talks also explored prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in training and information sharing.
During the meeting, Brigadier General Saud Mohammed Yousef Al-Sabah was honored for his significant efforts in supporting security collaboration between Kuwait and the United States. His contributions to joint coordination within the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) were also recognized.
Ambassador Sasahara expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised the longstanding friendship between Kuwait and the United States. She reaffirmed her country’s commitment to further strengthening security and institutional cooperation with Kuwait.
In a separate meeting with Dr. Adarsh Swaika, the Ambassador of India, Sheikh Fahad discussed ways to develop bilateral relations, particularly in security, crime prevention, and expertise exchange. Ambassador Swaika emphasized India’s eagerness to broaden security cooperation with Kuwait to serve their shared interests.
Sheikh Fahad also met with Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Ambassador of Pakistan, where they exchanged views on cooperation in the security sector and addressed prominent regional challenges and strategies to confront them. Ambassador Iqbal praised Kuwait’s role in promoting regional security and stability and expressed Pakistan’s desire to enhance its partnership with Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior.
The meetings underscore Kuwait’s ongoing commitment to fostering strong international security partnerships and addressing common challenges through cooperation.
