Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef

KUWAIT CITY, July 25: Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, former Chairman of the Kuwait Football Association, has urged the sports community to refrain from speculating about the future leadership of the Football Association and to focus instead on supporting the national team. The team faces two crucial matches against Jordan and Iraq next September as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Al-Yousef called on sports officials, pundits, media professionals, and fans to prioritize the interests of the national team and the reputation of Kuwait. He emphasized the importance of providing full support to the team at this critical stage and suggested postponing discussions about the administrative issues related to the association until after the national team's matches. He assured that there are established mechanisms and organizational regulations to address association matters in due time.

Al-Yousef expressed his hope that the national team and the players' morale would not be disrupted by rumors and speculation about resignations or presidential candidates for the association. He conveyed his pride in the players and wished them the best of luck in their upcoming matches.
