AMMAN, Oct 18: The 5th Arab Veterans Tennis Championship concluded recently in Amman, Jordan, with the participation of 160 players representing 14 Arab countries. The event was organized by the Arab Tennis Federation in cooperation with the Jordan Tennis Federation and the Jordan Tennis Club.
In his closing remarks, Jordan’s Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan praised the tournament for bringing together Arab athletes who embodied the true spirit of sportsmanship and Arab unity. He commended the organizers for their efforts, noting that the championship highlighted the positive image of Arab sports and strengthened ties among participating nations.
For his part, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, President of the Arab Tennis Federation, described the championship as a distinguished sporting event that united Arab athletes on courts defined by fair play and camaraderie.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber expressed appreciation for the excellent organisation and warm hospitality extended by the Jordanian hosts, praising the dedication and professionalism of both the Jordan Tennis Federation and the Jordan Tennis Club in ensuring the tournament’s success.
He emphasised that such championships enhance bonds of friendship among Arab athletes and serve as a platform for cooperation and cultural exchange through sport.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Jaber concluded by wishing continued success to all participants and expressed his hope to see the Arab tennis family reunited in future editions of the event.
The Kuwaiti delegation delivered an outstanding performance, winning six gold and silver medals and three bronze medals across various age categories in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competitions.
