KUWAIT CITY, May 17: Director of the Meteorological Department Dirar Al-Ali revealed that the State of Kuwait is currently affected by the movement of dusty northwest winds with a speed exceeding 60 kilometers per hour and the level of horizontal visibility declining to less than one thousand meters in some places, especially the open areas. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Saturday, Al-Ali explained that the country is affected by the extension of a surface depression accompanied by a hot and dry air mass with a rise in temperature, causing soil fragmentation and increase in the amount of dust. He advised the citizens and expatriates, who suffer from asthma and allergies, to use masks when going out. He also urged the sea-goers to be careful of the high level of sea waves that could reach up to seven feet, while warning road users about the low visibility.
He stressed the need for everyone to be updated on the weather forecast by closely monitoring the official website of the department, its application and accounts on social media platforms to know the latest weather developments (KUNA)
