KUWAIT CITY, Jan 30: Kuwait’s Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Mohammad Alrajhi has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In a press statement by his ministry on Saturday, the minister announced that he would isolate himself at home according to the relevant Health ministry protocols. He added that he would carry out his officially duties virtually.

Meanwhile, Kuwait Health Ministry announced that the country recorded 5,592 new coronavirus cases on Sunday, raising the total number of cases to 539,654. According to a statement to KUNA by the ministry’s official spokesperson Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, 5,236 people recovered from the virus, raising the total number of recoveries to 486,373. He added that the recovery rate out of the total number of cases is 90.1 percent. Al-Sanad said that two deaths were also recorded, raising the total number of deaths to 2,496. (KUNA)
