LOS ANGELES, Jan 3: Selena Gomez, known for her roles as an international popstar, Emmy-nominated actor, and beauty mogul, hinted at a potential shift in her career focus during a recent appearance on the “Smartless” podcast. The multi-talented artist expressed her desire to explore a new chapter, stating, “I do feel like I have one more album in me.” However, she emphasized her evolving priorities, leaning towards concentrating on her acting career.

“The older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on,” Gomez remarked, highlighting her passion for acting as her primary focus. Despite her success in the music industry, Gomez revealed that her music career emerged unexpectedly when Disney approached her during her stint on the Disney Channel sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place” in the late 2000s.

“That hobby turned into something else,” Gomez admitted, referencing her unintended transition into a successful music career. Having released three studio albums since 2013, including hits like “Come & Get It” and “Lose You to Love Me,” Gomez earned Grammy nods for her Spanish-language EP “Revelación” in 2022.

Acknowledging her initial aspiration to be a serious actress, Gomez currently stars in the Hulu series “Only Murders in the Building” and has made appearances in films such as “Spring Breakers” and “A Rainy Day in New York.” The artist opened up about the challenges of juggling both music and acting, particularly due to mental health struggles detailed in her 2022 docuseries “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.”

While Gomez recognizes that there is no external pressure to choose between music and acting, she hinted at the possibility of choosing the future. “I’m going to want to chill because I’m tired,” she candidly expressed.

In addition to her contributions to the entertainment industry, Gomez founded Rare Beauty in 2020, a cosmetics company that she referred to as “the biggest gift” on the podcast. Despite the potential shift in her career trajectory, Gomez expressed pride in her cosmetic venture’s success, particularly noting its significant growth during the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
