KUWAIT CITY, June 1 : As summer temperatures begin to soar, Kuwait has officially implemented its annual ban on outdoor work during peak heat hours. Effective from June 1 through August 31, the regulation prohibits workers from performing tasks in open areas under direct sunlight between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

The Ministry of Public Authority of manpower announced the measure as part of its efforts to safeguard laborers from heat-related illnesses and ensure safer working conditions during the hottest months of the year. The ban applies to all sectors and companies operating in outdoor environments, including construction and maintenance.

Authorities have urged the public to report any violations of the ban. Residents can notify the ministry’s inspection team via WhatsApp at 24936132 if they witness workers being forced to operate in outdoor areas during restricted hours.

The government emphasized that violators will face strict penalties, and inspection teams will be conducting surprise visits to worksites to ensure compliance. The midday work ban is part of a broader national strategy to uphold labor rights and prevent occupational hazards related to Kuwait’s extreme summer climate.
