KUWAIT CITY, April 2: An American expatriate was arrested for gambling inside his apartment in Egaila area and for possessing liquor. According to security sources, when officers from Criminal Investigations Department received information about an American expatriate involved in gambling, a team was formed for investigations.

After confirming the information and obtaining a warrant from the Public Prosecution, securitymen raided his apartment in Egaila area and seized gambling tools, large sums of money and a number of liquor bottles.

The suspect was arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him. Meanwhile, officers from Ahmadi Governorate Security Command raided a gambling den operated by five Asians in Fahaheel.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers put the suspects under surveillance to verify the information. They later obtained a warrant to raid the apartment which the suspects turned into a gambling area. This resulted in the arrest of the Asians and confiscation of some gambling tools and undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects and confiscated items were referred to the concerned security
