Security sweep: 3,273 traffic violations issued, 76 vehicles impounded

The General Traffic Department’s operation nets thousands of violations and vehicle impoundments.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: In a sweeping security operation conducted on Wednesday, January 24, 2023, the General Traffic Department demonstrated its commitment to road safety by deploying security personnel across all roads in every governorate. The extensive efforts led to the issuance of (3273) various traffic violations, the impoundment of (76) violating vehicles in the traffic impoundment garage, and the apprehension of two individuals by the traffic police. Furthermore, the operation successfully seized a wanted person and (7) wanted vehicles, while two individuals were referred to the Juvenile Investigation Department.

The Ministry of Interior has underscored the continued dedication of the General Traffic Department in executing such campaigns, emphasizing a zero-tolerance approach towards those who violate traffic regulations. The Ministry has assured the public that it will not waver in enforcing the law, highlighting the critical importance of adhering to traffic laws to ensure the safety of all road users.
