MANILA, Philippines, Nov 13, (Agencies): A security guard miraculously survived after sustaining injuries from jumping off the railing of the Meralco-Ortigas Avenue flyover in Barangay Ugong Norte, Quezon City on Saturday afternoon, Nov 11. The 26-year-old man, now in stable condition, is undergoing treatment at Pasig General Hospital, following a medical evaluation at the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City.

According to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) report, the incident occurred around 5:22 pm as the man suddenly leaped from the Meralco-Ortigas Avenue flyover, landing on the Ortigas flyover. A video capturing the event quickly went viral on social media. The police highlighted that the gap between the flyovers measures approximately 10-13 meters.

During the fall, the security guard collided with a motorcycle driven by Joseph Antonio, 22, resulting in damage to the vehicle. Both the motorcycle driver and his passenger also fell to the ground. The security guard sustained injuries on various parts of his body and was promptly taken to Victor Potenciano Medical Center by members of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). Subsequently, he was transferred to Mandaluyong City Medical Center for further medical attention.

Following the incident, the victim underwent mental evaluation at the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City. Notably, the motorcycle driver opted not to file a complaint against the security guard concerning the damages incurred by his vehicle.
