Dr Fayez Al-Dafiri

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: Reliable sources within Kuwait University have revealed to Al-Anbaa that Dr. Fayez Al-Dhafiri, the Acting Secretary-General, has urged the leaders of the university's work centers to refrain from using internal resources improperly. It was noted that certain work centers within the university had breached the guidelines outlined by the Ministry of Finance and Decision No. 10/82, specifically in relation to fire extinguisher regulations mandated by the General Fire Department. Additionally, these centers were found to be lacking in warehouse safety and prevention measures.

The sources have verified that, to facilitate the seamless advancement of operations and comply with the circulars issued by the Ministry of Finance for the preservation and safeguarding of assets, it is imperative to prevent any damage and forestall violations from regulatory bodies. Consequently, we urge all university work centers and colleges situated in Sabah Al-Salem University City to promptly close any storage areas housing various items such as stocks, chemical materials, oxygen, or nitrogen cylinders. Such precautionary measures are essential to mitigate potential hazards to students, staff, and university facilities.

He emphasized the requirement to inform the Storage Affairs Department if such locations exist and have not been previously notified or registered. It was underscored that in the event of any malfunctions arising from inadequate storage of the mentioned items or the interaction of chemical materials, the official in charge of the work center will bear responsibility for violating the aforementioned guidelines. Emphasizing the need for everyone to adhere to safeguarding the university's interests.
