KUWAIT CITY, Oct 6: As part of the ongoing efforts by the criminal security sector to uphold the law, enhance security measures, and apprehend individuals involved in illicit activities, including the promotion and distribution of harmful substances, significant steps have been taken to safeguard the community.

The General Department of Narcotics Control has successfully arrested 24 expats of various nationalities in 17 separate cases. These expats were found in possession of approximately 14 kilograms of various narcotic substances, including Crystal meth, Hashish, Chemical substances, Heroin, Marijuana, and Cocaine. Additionally, 1432 pills of psychotropic substances were seized. Furthermore, 6 unlicensed weapons and ammunition were discovered in the possession of some of the defendants, along with quantities of alcohol and proceeds from illicit sales.

Upon being confronted with the evidence seized from their possession, the accused individuals confessed to owning the seized items with the intent to engage in trafficking and abuse. Consequently, both the individuals and the seized items have been handed over to the appropriate authorities to initiate the necessary legal proceedings against them.

The General Department of Security Relations and Media underscores the commitment of criminal security personnel and all sectors of the Ministry to combat the distribution of harmful substances and apprehend those responsible. The Ministry urges the public to collaborate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities by using the emergency phone number (112) or contacting the General Administration for Drug Control hotline at (1884141). Together, we can work towards a safer and drug-free community.
