LOS ANGELES, Nov 16, (Agencies): Samuel Haskell, the son of veteran Hollywood agent Sam Haskell III, faces three counts of murder after the discovery of a dismembered torso, believed to be his missing wife Mei Li Haskell, inside a dumpster near their Tarzana, California home. The victims also include Mei Li’s parents, Gaoshan Li and Yanxiang Wan, who remain missing.

Prosecutors allege that on Nov 6, Haskell, 35, murdered his wife and her parents, after which he hired day laborers on Nov 7 to dispose of trash bags from his home. The day laborers, suspicious of the bags’ contents, found soft and soggy body parts instead of rocks. Haskell claimed they were Halloween props, but the laborers reported the discovery to the LAPD.

Despite attempts to report the incident, the LAPD allegedly directed the laborers to call 911. Subsequently, Haskell was observed disposing of a large trash bag near his home on Ventura Boulevard. A dismembered torso was later found in a dumpster nearby on Nov 8.

Officers entered Haskell’s home, discovering evidence of a crime, including blood. Haskell was arrested on Nov 8 at a mall, and his three children are now with family. Following his initial arrest, Haskell was held on $2 million bail, and at a Nov 13 court appearance, he was ordered to be held without bail.

The LAPD is investigating whether officers turned away individuals attempting to report the disposal of human remains at the Topanga Station. LAPD Chief Michel Moore confirmed this inquiry on Nov. 14.
