KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: The Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Traffic and Operations Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh met with a number of stakeholders in the Ministry of Commerce, Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, to coordinate and develop a mechanism and requirements for home food delivery service companies, starting from October 1, 2022, reports Al-Qabas daily.
The Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Ministry of Interior, said Major General Al-Sayegh’s meeting with the concerned authorities came based on the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The department explained that the meeting aims to set several conditions, including that the driver of a vehicle (delivery of orders) must have a health certificate issued by the Ministry of Health; to put a sticker for the company to which the delivery vehicle belongs, in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality; the residence of a vehicle driver (delivery of orders) must be in the same company he works for and commitment to the driver’s uniform, whether it is a vehicle or a motorcycle.
The ministry called on the owners of the companies concerned to abide by the instructions and regulating laws, noting that whoever violates these conditions will have his license suspended and legal action will be taken against him.
