HONG KONG, July 7: Soccer fans in Hong Kong waited in long lines to get a glimpse of Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy as the first-ever international exhibition dedicated to the Portuguese icon opened its doors outside his home country.
The CR Life Museum, located in a luxury shopping mall in Hong Kong, features life-size statues of Ronaldo in his signature goal celebrations, along with jerseys and trophies from his storied career at Manchester United, Real Madrid, and currently, Saudi club Al-Nassr.
"Cristiano Ronaldo is my idol... he's special," said 14-year-old Alvin Lai, who arrived early to be first in a queue of more than 100 people eager to take photos and explore the exhibits.
The opening of the museum comes shortly after Ronaldo signed a new two-year contract with Al-Nassr, which he described as a "new chapter" via Instagram. His club is also set to compete in the Saudi Super Cup in Hong Kong next month as part of its pre-season preparations.
The Saudi Football Federation has announced that the 2025 edition of the Super Cup will take place in Hong Kong from August 19 to 23, featuring Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, and Al-Qadisiyah.
Thomas Froese, a representative from Ronaldo’s family office, shared that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is looking forward to welcoming fans to the museum “very soon.”
Organizers confirmed that the Hong Kong exhibition will run for one year, after which it will move to various locations across China.
