KUWAIT CITY, May 31: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced on Friday the start of extensive road maintenance works in Jahra Governorate as part of a new series of contracts aimed at maintaining highways and internal roads.

In a press statement, Dr. Al-Mashaan emphasized the ministry’s commitment to completing projects on schedule while maintaining the highest quality and engineering standards. She noted that the radical maintenance efforts will improve the efficiency and durability of the roads.

Dr. Al-Mashaan explained that both radical and periodic maintenance help extend the lifespan of road infrastructure and delay the need for full reconstruction, thereby reducing long-term costs for the state.

Engineer Mazid Al-Anzi, supervisor of Contract 14 in Jahra, said that teams continue to carry out radical maintenance following the Minister’s directives. He confirmed that crews are currently working in the Al-Qasr area, Block 1, overseeing progress and related maintenance contracts.

Al-Anzi added that current tasks include asphalt scraping and spreading in Blocks 1 and 2, followed by street leveling and painting speed bumps, before moving sequentially to other blocks as scheduled.
