Wheel of life must go on: Dr Behbehani
KUWAIT CITY, May 28: The resumption of work after the end of the total curfew on May 30 does not mean the corona pandemic will recede; as this is an urgent economic measure and the wheel of life must go on, along with controls and conditions that may increase or decrease depending on the pathways and developments related to the pandemic, reports Al- Seyassah daily quoting Dr Abdullah Behbehani -- an official at the Preventive Health Department in West Salmiya Clinic.

Speaking to the daily, Behbehani stressed the resumption of work must be gradual and employees who cannot work online should fully abide by the preventive measures like wearing masks. He said the offices must have sanitizers, in addition to regular sterilization of surfaces including common devices, photocopying machines and door handles.
Distancing
He called for implementation of social distancing in workplaces by stopping major meetings which require personal attendance and adopting virtual techniques to hold meetings online.
He said it is better to find safer ways for the employees to register their attendance, instead of using the fingerprint attendance devices; while making sure to rearrange offices in order to maintain a safe distance between employees and avoid handshaking.
He underscored the importance of increasing and enhancing electronic transactions, reducing personal appearances and developing a strategy to carry out certain tasks at home; especially the employees suffering from health conditions that make them more vulnerable to severe complications.
He added it is impossible to close barbershops permanently, but it is possible to postpone the opening of such establishments. The opening of barbershops should be done along with the strict implementation of preventive measures like wearing masks, he suggested.
