KUWAIT CITY, Oct 4: Several investors and residents of the Muthanna Complex have filed lawsuits against the real estate company managing the complex and the Ministry of Finance, due to the “sudden closure and the breaking of doors without allowing them to retrieve their medications and belongings”, reports Al-Seyassah daily. According to informed sources, the notices posted on the complex’s doors demanded immediate evacuation, despite being posted during the summer vacation when many residents were out of the country
The breaking of doors should have been carried out with a warrant issued by the Public Prosecution. The real estate company managing the complex on behalf of the Ministry of Finance should have negotiated with the ministry on behalf of the tenants. Also, the company should have given at least six months’ notice before eviction.
